Had a delicious meal this evening here. The food was great and the service was exceptional and we did not have to wait long. Great place for all the family and four legged family members are welcome. If you are interested in Lord Nelson, ask to sit near the books as there are a wide range on him.

After having been let down by another pub in the area for New Year’s Day plans, we drove we tried Lord Nelson, appealing to the general manager’s kind heart (it was very clearly signposted on the entrance and their socials it was due to be RESERVATIONS ONLY) The manager accommodated us happily despite it being packed to the rafters - 5 star service. There was a table that was rude to the aforementioned general manager and when she served us again for the dessert order she was visibly upset and was on the brink of tears. This was upsetting to see as she had been so diligent and professional and the atmosphere and food was cracking.

We had a meal at the Lord Nelson in Norfolk yesterday and were very impressed. Despite it being New Year’s Eve and clearly a very busy day for the team, both the food and the service were excellent. The sea bass in particular was cooked to perfection — beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Overall, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable, and it was clear that care and attention were given throughout, even under pressure. We would happily return and would highly recommend it.

Just stopped off here for a drink on the way to visit friends. What a transformation this place has had, very large a warming inside, friendly staff. Great place for entertaining and having dinner.

Not been before, but the staff expected us to know. Prices rather obscure on the menu card. No prices for tea & coffee though. Expensive, but plenty of tasty food. Lovely basic decor dedicated to Nelson.

Fantastic friendly and welcoming (especially Phoebe the pup!) pub just off the coast. Enjoyably quiet post-New Year lunch here, lovely food and drink as the snow fell outside. Really smart place, well worth the short scenic drive from the coast road. We’ll be back!

I visited The Lord Nelson public house 'again '3rd November 2025'after 3 years' What a difference ' Well!! If you what character'!!! good food'!!! good selection of beers' !!! Good selection of wines The menu is really good all freshly made on the premises ' Good parking. outside seating as well ! Dogs are truly welcome with a selection of dog biscuits ' The restaurant is bright nicely decorated! There is a new Landlord called Greg' Who took over The pub' April of this year. and is very charismatic ' and cares for this place with passion. He has so many exciting plans 'and ideas for this famous local Which originally was called The Plough but renamed after Nelson' in 17th century 'in tribute to his battle of the nile 1798' If you are looking for a unique eating/public house ' Look no further . Lord Nelson used to host dinner parties ect for the locals' Nelson was born in the village 'His father Edmond' was the Rector of All Saints Church for 40 years' and resides in the church grounds' along side some of Nelsons siblings. Wonderful Village' Walk In the steps of Nelson' and enjoy having a drink and something to eat in his local.
